Surender Reddy has delivered an entertainer in the form of Kick a couple of years back. Now he is coming again by teaming up with NTR for Oosaravelli. Oosaravelli is all set to release with maximum prints all over the world on 6 October 2011. Here is a chitchat with Surender Reddy -

You are known for your slick action sequences. You had ventured into comedy/entertainment genre and proved yourself with Kick?
On the personal front, I feel that I am very good with romance subjects. Since people have liked action sequences in my debut film Athanokkade, I was forced to do all action films later. I enjoy myself in dealing with romance and entertainment (comedy). I had got an opportunity to work with Ravi Teja who is the best at comedy and got it right with Kick. I am eagerly waiting to do a pure love story with new faces.

Why did you take such a huge gap after the release of Kick?
I have got married after the release of Kick and took a 6-months break. I was supposed to do Ram’s movie and it didn’t materialize. I have prepared Oosaravelli subject without having any particular hero in mind. It was Nallamalupu Bujji who took me to NTR for this subject. NTR was having around 3 projects on anvil by that time. NTR has got so much excited with this story that he has asked me to start it immediately. He had a commitment to BVNS Prasad and I too took advance from him earlier. Hence Oosaravelli film was made on Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner.

Tell us about Oosaravelli?
Oosaravelli change colors as per the surroundings. Our Oosaravelli changes the fate of people with his tricks. (oosaravelli rangulu maarchedi kaadu. Idi raathalu marche oosaravelli). The entire story runs on the characterization of the hero. It is a love entertainer and an emotional drama. There is going to be a very good entertainment that is generated out of situations/story.

What are the plus points of the movie?
This film is a new genre for NTR. It is the first character-based film in NTR’s career. NTR looks stylish and his changed his dialogue delivery as well.

Tell us about ‘Tony’ tattoo on NTR’s neck?
Tony is the name of NTR’s character in the movie. There is some relevance to that tattoo in the story. We have revealed the tattoo in poster designs and trailer because NTR looks very stylish with it.

What are your favorite songs in Oosaravelli?
Nenante Naaku and Bratakali are my personal favorites. Bratakali and Niharika are going to be the best from the visual point of view. Bratakali, Niharika, Nenante and Anjaneya slokam are the best from the situation point of view.

You had done Ashok with NTR in the past and now you did Oosaravelli. Did you observe any change in thinking process of NTR?
Yes. He has matured a lot from then. He is looking for different and challenging scripts now. He is open to wide range of characters. NTR has asked me to stick to the subject and go ahead with my vision. When everybody opposed to Oosaravelli title thinking that it’s a negative one, NTR supported me and asked me to go ahead with Oosaravelli title.

Tell us about Tamanna?
Tamanna will get an award for her performance in this movie. She is playing a key character (as important as that of hero). She will make us cry in 3 scenes with her performance.

Are there too many villains in the movie?
Prakash Raj is the main villain. There are a few negative characters as well.

You have seen the final print. What is your gut feel?
There is no doubt about it. Oosaravelli is going to be a big hit and will do wonders for all of us.

What is your next project?
I have not finalized in anything. I am keen to do a love story with new faces. Lets see how it goes.
