Open letter on Telugu dubbing

Hi Jeevi,

I thought of writing to you on this particular topic for a long time. It is high time we need to put some (may be lot of) effort to stop entertaining the dubbing artists who doesn't have the command over the language. The reason for writing this personally to you is none other than 'reading your movie reviews'. I like the way you politically comment on these kind of artists. Though a lot of humour involved in your words, if unearthed, could visualize the strong opposition in your heart to protect the Telugu language integrity. Please take out some time to read this.

I had seen a lot of Telugu movies in the recent past, where some of the dubbing artists especially who do for non-telugu female are turning out to be a threat for the existence of Telugu language primitives. If this continues, I would definitely say, the present youth and the coming generation will forget (in fact don't know) the historic beauty of the language which eventually comprises of Telugu culture.

They doesn't know the difference between 'cha' and 'tsa'. The heroine start saying to hero..'vere ammayini choosthe..chchhhhamputha'. If exists a YAMA for Telugu language protector, he would have cut the tongue into thousands of pieces before thrashing the throat. Is this the way it should be pronounced? As told by the character, we should really kill these kind of people who slaughter the language. I do agree that all fingers are not equal and not all people can be strong enough to do all the things. Knowing their skillset the people should behave and do the proper activities. I am saying all these because of the matter of fact that I couldn't digest a dubbing artist saying in an interview that they do it intentionally. The reason being the heroines are from North india. Tried very hard and broke my ass to find some logic in this? Is the dubbing related to character of the film or the real person. May need to take the risk of contacting the other half of her life to clarify. More over she says the producers and directors are demanding for these. If this is true, then we can estimate the amount of effort being put by film making people in ruining our culture.

Working in Film Industry, rated as the powerful media in many sections of our society, the makers should first learn the importance of being and not being a Telugu. Let the big-wigs of Film Industry put a preamble, for the people who enter to the indsutry, like we day have in our constitution....WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens: In the similar lines we can say....We, the people of Telugu Film Industry solemnly.....bla bla bla....and finally see to that he is properly trained in the above said lines and constantly monitor their works so that they would not deviate from the oath taken during preamble phase.

Finally, want to conclude saying as the lines of Gireesam panthulu in Kanyasulkam "Telugu uccharana theliyani telugu vaaru, vacche janma lo dunnapothulayi pudathaaru". Some of the contents in the mail may be harsh. Just wanted to convey the intensity of emotions that I have.

IDLEBRAIN, being the most powerful, unparallel, nonpareil Telugu cinema communicator, I request you to humbly escalate this issue to the required level and there by protect the integrity of our Telugu language and people. To remind you, there is no dearth of talent in our people. Many infact hundreds and thousands are there who can speak very good telugu...let media use them rather than relying on those who search reasons for doing their unpleasant, filthy and disgusting work. And IdleBrain should play the vital role for this.

All the best,
Thanks for your continuous co-operation in improving the our culture,
Sridhar Yedavalli
