Open Letter to Jagadam team

I happened to watch Jagadam this Saturday. I have seen earlier movies of Sukumar and hero Ram ( Devadas), and I thought this would be a good movie to spend some time on a Saturday evening. However, I must say I am grossly disappointed.

First of all I should point out the good factors: Songs are good, Choreography and dances are really good and so are the technical values of the movie. However, all these seem to be wasted in such a movie that I really wished all this work was reseverd for a better film.

In my opinion a movie does one or both of 2 things: 1) give entertainment 2) pass a message to the community. For almost 80% of the movie Jagadam, I was not really sure whether any message was being communicated ( other than Violence is a fashion), or if I am being entertained. If the director's aim was to pass a message that Violence has dire consequences, then showing violence as a Way to Go for 80% of the film serve the purpose? And if at all the message was communicated after the hero's brother dies, then why the villian is killed again AFTER the message is passed? Where is the congruence of ideas? And the most apalling part of the movie is that there seems to be no apparent reason for the hero to get attracted to violence. No reason at all. Just fascination. And the herione does not seem to have any problem with that even after a murderous attack on their lives.

I do not know about others, but I go to movies for entertainment or to get inspired. Yes, many of my favorite action movies contain lot of fights etc., but they atleast have a reason for hero's anger and show that with courage anything can be done. Why don;t we have movies that Inspire? Why don;t we have movies that are leave us with a feeling of a cool breeze on a summer night? Where are the days where movie used to be an "EXPERIENCE"!!!

Sorry if I hurt anybody with my opinions, but I just want to take this opportnuity to say that a movie can always create a feeling while the audienece walks out. It can be inspiration, gratification, or intimidation. And atleast I do not need to pay $10 to go get intimidated. I have my life to do that for me for free!!!!!!
